A 100,000 MT Floating Storage Unit — held on a six-point multi-buoy mooring and connected to shore by subsea pipeline — receives full cargoes from large tankers in deep water and redistributes product across a six-nation corridor, with the mooring system engineered for expansion to a dual-vessel configuration.
Shallow-draft ports across the MSGBC basin cannot receive large-volume petroleum tankers, and onshore storage is critically constrained — inflating landed fuel cost and leaving landlocked markets dependent on fragile overland corridors. An offshore FSU resolves both constraints at once, enabling deep-water bulk reception, secure ship-to-ship transfer and responsive redistribution across The Gambia, Senegal, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Mali and Burkina Faso.
Large-volume tankers discharge full cargoes directly to the FSU in deep water via ship-to-ship transfer — removing port draft restrictions and the demurrage exposure that comes with partial discharge at shallow-draft ports.
The FSU holds up to 100,000 MT of refined product securely offshore within The Gambia's EEZ — absorbing large supply parcels and releasing product on demand, insulating the distribution network from supply shocks.
Product is redistributed by a 7,500 MT owned coastal shuttle and chartered vessels to shallow-water ports across the corridor — capturing the inter-port logistics margin without requiring port infrastructure investment.
Onshore terminals feed landlocked markets by road, with the Gambia River providing a navigable inland artery reaching over 1,100 km into the interior — a supply route no land-based competitor can replicate.
